After soaring to 56 points the game before, the Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles were a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They were dealt a 44-17 loss at the hands of Dieterich. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brownstown/St. Elmo in their matchups with Dieterich: they've now lost five in a row.
Dieterich can attribute much of their success to Kady Tegler, who scored 11 points. The match was Tegler's third in a row with at least ten points. Estella Meinhart was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Brownstown/St. Elmo's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Dieterich, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brownstown/St. Elmo will take on Webber at TBD on Friday. Webber is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Dieterich, they will play host again and welcome North Clay/Clay City, where tip off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Monday. North Clay/Clay City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Dieterich is ranked 163rd).
