Omaha North hasn't had much luck against Blair recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Bears at 4:30 p.m. Omaha North is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Omaha North took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln High, sneaking past 5-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
The team relied heavily on Colin Kinman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chance Kinman, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Blair put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Beatrice. The Bears blew past the Orangemen 16-0. Considering the Bears have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Owen Mann tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Blair got a massive performance out of Brevin Leggott, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Leggott is becoming a predictor of the Bears' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Wilkins, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Blair always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beatrice only posted an OBP of .211.
The victory made it two in a row for Blair and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Omaha North, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Omaha North has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blair struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Omaha North suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Blair when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
