 Kouts took Hammond Central into a fifth set  where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 25-12, 24-26,  15-10.
 Jake Boomer paced Kouts' offense, picking up 31 kills. Boomer got some help from  Gavin DeYoung and his 46 assists.
Kouts' victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Hammond Central, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record  this season.
 Kouts has already played their next game,  a  3-1  win against Morgan Township on the 26th. As for Hammond Central, they will venture away from home to  challenge Hammond Morton  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Wolves are facing the Governors at the right time seeing as the Governors are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
