The Texas football season is in to the state semifinals. The players who are still playing are continuing to rack up big numbers this season. Below are the offensive leaders in the state and where they rank nationally in individual categories.
PASSING YARDSNick Gerber, Sr., Levelland No. 2 Gerber finished out his senior season by throwing for a state-record 5,617 yards and 77 touchdowns in 14 games. In Levelland's second-ending loss on Dec. 2 to Wylie, Gerber threw for a season-low 216 yards and one touchdown. He only threw for under 300 yards twice.
Grant Gunnell, So., St. Pius X (Houston) No. 3Gunnell put up gaudy numbers in just 12 games this season. The sophomore tallied 4,973 yards and 65 touchdowns. In his team's playoff loss to Bishop Dunne on Nov. 26, Gunnell had 340 yards passing and two scores.
Aaron Brown, Jr., Gilmer No. 5The junior has racked up 4,659 yards through the air and 46 touchdowns. His team keeps advancing in the playoffs after a four-touchdown, 345-yard performance against Celina 43-17 on Dec. 2.
Chase Allison, Sr., Robinson No. 5Allison tied Brown with 4,659 yards, but did that in two less games. He averaged 388.3 yards per contest and tossed 59 touchdown passes. He had a pass rating of 131.0 for the season.
Michael Everett, Sr., Odem No. 10Everett led the Owls to an 11-2 record and amassed 4,362 yards passing and 58 touchdowns. He never threw for under 270 yards in a game all season.
RUSHING YARDSCalvin Tyler, Sr., Silsbee No. 14Tyler ran for 260.1 yards per game and finished with 2,861 yards. He picked up late in the season, rumbling for 1,281 in the final four games. Tyler ended up with 29 touchdowns on the year.
Deion Hankins, So., Parkland (El Paso) No. 15Hankins was the leading rusher in the state most of the season before Tyler's late surge. He finished with 2,812 yards. A 29-yard game shot down his average, but he still ran for over 200 yards in nine games.
Kennedy Brooks, Sr., Mansfield No. 25Brooks racked up 2,679 yards in just 10 games on the year. He averaged 10.7 yards per carry and ran for 35 touchdowns.
Joshua Fields, Sr., Americas (El Paso) No. 42Fields had 2,477 yards this season despite being held under 100 yards in three games. In the other nine games, Fields came through with 2,280 yards.
Eno Benjamin, Sr., Wylie East (Wylie) No. 52Benjamin closed out his career with 2,412 yards rushing. In his final two games, he went wild for 623 yards and seven touchdowns.
RECEIVING YARDS Judah Bell, Sr., Bishop Gorman (Tyler) No. 1Bell put up a staggering 2,352 yards receiving and averaged 213.8 per game. The senior was over 200 yards five times.
Braxton Ashcraft, Jr., Robinson No. 2Ashcraft has a bright future ahead of him after getting 2,090 yards receiving. In his 104 catches, he averaged 20.7 yards per reception.

Waydale Jones, Sr., Jones (Beeville) No. 5 Jones hauled in 115 balls for 1,979 yards this year. He amassed four 200-plus-yard games.
Jeffrey Elliott, Sr., Levelland No. 14Elliott was Nick Gerber's main target during the quarterback's record-setting season. He grabbed 101 catches for 1,703 yards.
Kerrion Fields, Jr. Midlothian Heritage (Midlothian) No. 16Fields finished with 1,692 yards and 92 receptions. He saved his best for last, pulling in 17 catches for 317 yards in a season-ending loss on Nov. 25.
TOTAL TOUCHDOWNS (non-passing scores)Roshauud Paul, Sr., Bremond No. 14Paul exploded for 44 touchdowns this season. He scored 41 rushing touchdowns, two on kickoff returns and one on an interception return.
Payton McAlister, Sr., Decatur No. 23McAlister finished his career with 42 touchdowns in his last season. He had 27 rushing scores, 14 receiving and one punt return.
Braxton Ashcraft, Jr., Robinson No. 50Ashcraft scored all 37 of his touchdowns on receptions. He had two or more touchdown catches in 11 of his team's 12 games this season.
Trey Sterling, Sr., Sunnyvale No. 50Sterling tied Ashcraft with 37 scores. He had 31 rushing touchdowns, four on receptions, and one each on fumble return, interception return and punt return.
Kennedy Brooks, Sr., Mansfield No. 78Brooks came through with 35 touchdowns, all on the ground. In eight of 10 games played, he scored three or more times.
