The Pine Forest Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Triton Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pine Forest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
Pine Forest struggled with assists on Tuesday (E.E. Smith had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Pine Forest ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-31 walloping at the hands of E.E. Smith. Pine Forest was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.
Despite the loss, Pine Forest got a solid performance out of Chloe Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Wilson hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Triton gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Western Harnett 58-23 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Triton as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Triton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Neveah Hawley, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Nashara McNeil-Watlington, who scored 16 points along with seven steals.
Pine Forest has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Triton, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Pine Forest beat Triton 50-43 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Pine Forest repeat their success, or does Triton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
