On Thursday, the Decatur Red Raiders's game was all tied up 36-36 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 51-45 victory over Lawrence County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Decatur.
Lawrence County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ben Newton, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, and Braylon Dame who scored 13 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Wear, who scored 5 points along with 3 steals.
Decatur has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Lawrence County, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Decatur will take on Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against East Lawrence at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. East Lawrence is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
