The Chalmette Owls won the last time they faced the Edna Karr Cougars, and things went their way on Friday too. Chalmette narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Edna Karr 50-47. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chalmette.
Despite the loss, Edna Karr saw an underclassman step up: Cass Antoine scored 15 points. The game was Antoine's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Taylen Carter, who scored 10 points.
The victory got Chalmette back to even at 3-3. As for Edna Karr, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Chalmette will be playing in front of their home fans against Carver Collegiate Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Carver Collegiate Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Edna Karr, they will square off against Mt. Carmel at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Carmel is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
