The Rich Township Raptors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Crete-Monee 54-26 at home. The win was just what Rich Township needed coming off of a 57-30 loss in their prior game.
Rich Township was led to victory by Kai Williamson and Sherrie Emmons. Williamson scored 11 points along with four steals, while Emmons scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Greenwood, who scored six points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Rich Township's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Crete-Monee, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rich Township will face off against Thornton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Thornton is ranked 171st, while Rich Township is ranked 152nd). Crete-Monee will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Thornwood at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th.
