The La Monte Vikings's four-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Columbia Independent with a sharp 55-33 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win La Monte has posted since November 17, 2023.
Columbia Independent's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Eric Dirksmeyer, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds, and Gabe Martin who scored six points.
La Monte's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Columbia Independent, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
La Monte and Lincoln will face off on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Columbia Independent will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian Fellowship at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
