The Whitmer Panthers came into Monday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Bowling Green by a score of 51-41 on Monday. The victory was just what Whitmer needed coming off of a 72-43 loss in their prior game.
Leading Whitmer to victory were Jada Shoup and Mackenzie Royal-davis. Shoup scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Royal-davis scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Madison Welch, who scored six points.
The win got Whitmer back to even at 10-10. As for Bowling Green, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitmer will take on Northview at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Whitmer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. As for Bowling Green, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Clay at 7:15 p.m. Clay is coming into the game with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Bowling Green will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
