It was another big night for Justin Grimes, who scored 29 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Malachi Green was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six assists and three steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Jacksonville gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 77-50 win over Northside - Jacksonville. Given Jacksonville's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Northside - Jacksonville is ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jacksonville can attribute much of their success to Tafari Martin, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Ra-Shawn Echols, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
J.H. Rose is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Jacksonville, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7.
Friday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: J.H. Rose have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 49.4% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Jacksonville struggles in that department as they've made 43.9% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
