DSST: Green Valley Ranch is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Manual is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors will take on the Manual Thunderbolts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, DSST: Green Valley Ranch strolled past DSST: Cedar with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. The win was just what DSST: Green Valley Ranch needed coming off of a 64-41 defeat in their prior contest.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch had a senior duo take command as Jovonnie Babineaux scored 19 points along with four steals and Shalom Abioye dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Leul Michael, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Manual was able to grind out a solid victory over Thomas MacLaren School on Monday, taking the game 67-56.
Manual's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jovan Collins-Falcon, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Collins-Falcon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Fox, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Manual, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. DSST: Green Valley Ranch hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 62.8 points per game. However, it's not like Manual struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 74.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, slipping by Manual 63-62. Does DSST: Green Valley Ranch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Manual turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
