The Austwell-Tivoli Redfish will head out on the road to face off against the Woodsboro Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Two weeks ago, Austwell-Tivoli took a serious blow against Flatonia, falling 89-45. Austwell-Tivoli has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Woodsboro's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 70-46 loss at the hands of Moulton.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Taggart Silvas, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Layton Jochetz, who scored 11 points.
Austwell-Tivoli's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Woodsboro, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Austwell-Tivoli beat Woodsboro 60-52 when the teams last played back in December of 2015. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Woodsboro's Jordan Abila, who scored 23 points. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Austwell-Tivoli to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
