The Hahnville Tigers will square off against the South Lafourche Tarpons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hahnville and Archbishop Chapelle, and Archbishop Chapelle kept the tradition alive. The Tigers came up short against the Chipmunks on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Chipmunks since September 18, 2018.
Hahnville was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-20.
Meanwhile, South Lafourche had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats. The game was the first time the Tarpons have beaten the Wildcats on their court since October 4, 2018.
South Lafourche's got stronger as the match went on, holding Destrehan to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-16.
Hahnville better focus on containing Addison Rodrigue and Jolie Callais as the pair were huge in South Lafourche's win. Rodrigue had 14 assists and six digs, while Callais had 11 digs and four assists. That's the most assists Callais has posted over her last nine matchups.
South Lafourche was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive matches.
South Lafourche's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Hahnville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
