The Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Southeast. Bishop Carroll lost against Southeast in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-62 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Bishop Carroll lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mikey Brand. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was John Hauserman, who scored 14 points.
Bishop Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Southeast, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Carroll will take on East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kapaun Mt. Carmel.
