Given Sunnyside's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Rincon/University is ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nayeli Nidez-Acu?a continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Alana Felix was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Sunnyside and bumps their season record up to 19-3. As for Rincon/University, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunnyside will take on Marana at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rincon/University, they will be playing at home against Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tucson High Magnet School will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
