Grace Academy's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to SouthLake Christian Academy on Thursday. The Lions never let the Ultimate Prep Baseball Academy Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Drew Cains's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Seth Stanton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Grace Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Hartnett, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Grace Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Ultimate Prep Baseball Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
