Liberty has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Meadow Bridge Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Liberty lost to Independence at home by a decisive 56-38 margin. Liberty was down 48-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Meadow Bridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 47-21 walloping at the hands of Independence. Meadow Bridge has not had much luck with Independence recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Riley Roberts, who scored seven points along with three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Abby Cooper was another key contributor, scoring two points.
Liberty dropped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Meadow Bridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Liberty lost to Meadow Bridge on the road by a decisive 51-35 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
