The Wesson Cobras lost against the Port Gibson Blue Waves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Wesson took a serious blow against the Blue Waves, falling 55-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wesson has scored all season.
Rekiyah Washington had an outrageously good game for Port Gibson as she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Camara Evans, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Wesson has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Port Gibson, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Wesson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Port Gibson will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Eagles at 5:00 a.m. South Pike is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
