This season hasn't been kind to The Chaparral Lobos, who are still winless after their eighth match. They were dealt a 43-0 defeat at the hands of Deming on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chaparral in their matchups with Deming: they've now lost six in a row.
Deming can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Pizarro, who rushed for 128 yards on only 11 carries.
Chaparral's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.7 points per game. As for Deming, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Chaparral will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Santa Teresa at 7:00 p.m. Santa Teresa comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Deming, they will head out on the road to face off against Gadsden at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Gadsden is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
