After flying high against the Tallwood Lions on Tuesday, the Landstown Eagles came back down to earth. Landstown was dealt a 68-39 loss at the hands of Bayside on Friday. Landstown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bayside apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Bayside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jessie Ware, who scored 25 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. The matchup was Ware's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micala Poe, who scored 18 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Landstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bayside, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Landstown will head out on the road to face off against Indian River at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bayside, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against First Colonial at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (First Colonial is ranked 138th, while Bayside is ranked 127th).
