The South Granville Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Carrboro 96-71. South Granville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.
Brendan Chamberlain was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Oliver Roberts, who scored 19 points.
Brody Gagne and Bakari Watkins certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Gagne scored 20 points along with two steals and two blocks, while Watkins scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Gagne continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Myles Gary was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
South Granville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Carrboro, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
South Granville will head out on the road to face off against Louisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Louisburg is on a five-game streak of home wins, South Granville a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Carrboro will take on Granville Central at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
