Batavia (Ill.) bested Elgin (Ill.) 62-14 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Micah Coffey touchdown pass to
Rourke Mullins in the first quarter, the Bulldogs were up 55-8 at the half.
Batavia put up 42 points in the first quarter en route to the win. BHS scored on a touchdown pass by Coffey to Mullins, a touchdown run by Green, an
Anthony Scaccia touchdown run, a touchdown run by Green, a defensive touchdown and an
Anthony Moneghini touchdown run in the quarter.
Mullins played well for the Bulldogs in the victory. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Batavia went into the matchup giving up only 16.6 points per game. The 14 points that the Maroons ended with were below their average of 18.0 coming into the game.
A 49-12 Batavia victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
