There's no place like home for the Freeman Flyers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Corsica/Stickney 67-32 at home on Thursday. For Freeman, this counts as revenge for the 54-42 defeat Corsica/Stickney walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freeman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rocky Ammann, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Tate Sorensen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Freeman's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Corsica/Stickney, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.
Freeman will square off against Lower Brule at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Freeman is ranked 76th, while Lower Brule is ranked 67th). As for Corsica/Stickney, they will square off against McCook Central/Montrose at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
