After a string of four wins, the Eagle Valley Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Grand Junction by a score of 65-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (61), Eagle Valley still had to take the loss.
Several Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brian Fontana, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Fontana continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Dylan J zoller was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Eagle Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Grand Junction, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle Valley will square off against Montrose at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Montrose focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Grand Junction, they will head out on the road to take on Fruita Monument at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fruita Monument is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
