High school basketball's Class of 2025 is loaded with intrigue as several promising freshmen have the look of future No. 1 prospects. But one stands out above the crowd – 6-foot-8 forward
Cameron Boozer of
Columbus (Miami, Fla.).
Cameron and twin brother
Cayden are indeed the sons of former Duke star and NBA veteran Carlos Boozer. Together, the duo have led Columbus (27-2) to the Class 7A state semifinals and a date with Lake Worth on Friday.
While Cayden, a 6-4 guard, is putting up incredible numbers in his own right (17.0 points, 5.5 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game), Cameron is simply on another level.
"He has an offensive repertoire that is well beyond his
years," MaxPreps basketball editor Jordan Divens said. "He's clearly established himself as the top freshman in high
school basketball and arguably the most talented prospect regardless of
class. It's hard to find any obvious weaknesses in his game."
Cameron is averaging 19.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.3 blocked shots per game. A testament to his skill level and hoops savvy, Boozer posted a triple-double in his fourth varsity game back on Dec. 7 – posting 18 points, 13 rebounds and 11 blocked shots in a win over Miami.
