The Hancock Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Faith Christian Academy Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hancock comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Thursday, Hancock was beaten by Northern 59-26. While losing is never fun, Hancock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Northern is ranked 124th).
Faith Christian Academy won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-15 loss at the hands of Shalom Christian Academy. Faith Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-2.
Hancock's loss was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Faith Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Hancock came up short against Faith Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 47-40. Can Hancock avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
