The Oroville Tigers struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Corning Cardinals had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The matchup between Oroville and the Cardinals wasn't particularly close, with the Tigers falling 52-38. Oroville has not had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Kevin Taylor and Jantzen Demitrial certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Taylor scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Demitrial scored 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corning to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quinton Davis, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Davis is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Javier Cayetano, who scored 13 points.
Oroville dropped their record down to 7-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Corning, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Oroville will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corning, they will be playing at home against the Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Martin Soria and Jeff Mendros.
