Woodberry Forest extended the longest winning streak in VISFA Virginia Prep this week by beating St. Christopher's, 13-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Tigers.
Collegiate took down Norfolk Academy 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Fork Union Military Academy's dynamic duo of Christian Hackenberg and Chrystian Brown proved tough for Benedictine to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hackenberg threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns and Brown had 220 yards receiving. Malcolm Cook helped Fork Union Military Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 28 yards.
Harold Minor was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 87 yards as Woodberry Forest topped the Cadets. Hunter Etheridge also contributed to the rushing game with 37 yards on the ground.
Fork Union Military Academy's Hackenberg and Brown have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hackenberg has thrown for 1547 yards this season, while Brown, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 27 catches for 535 yards. Minor from Clint Alexander's team leads the league in rushing with 574 yards.
The top two teams in VISFA Virginia Prep will face off this week when first place Fork Union Military Academy takes on second place Woodberry Forest. Last week, Micky Sullivan's team beat Benedictine, while the Tigers defeated the Saints.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when the Blue Devils and Woodberry Forest meet this week. Fork Union Military Academy features well-regarded senior Hackenberg while the Tigers has Doug Randolph, a sought after senior.
There should be lots of points scored when the Blue Devils and Woodberry Forest face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Fork Union Military Academy comes in having scored 286 this season, while the Tigers have scored 219. The Blue Devils scored 39 points last week as they defeated Greg Lilly's team.
The Cougars made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,374 from 2,730. The advance stemmed from a 41-7 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
