If the Florida Christian Patriots were feeling good off their 59-23 takedown of the Divine Savior Academy Sharks back in December of 2023, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Florida Christian took a serious blow against Westminster Christian on Thursday, falling 47-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Florida Christian has scored all season.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Zoe Campos and
Bella Fernandez, who each put up three points.
Natalia Stocker held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.
Florida Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Westminster Christian, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florida Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against TERRA Environmental at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully TERRA Environmental focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday. As for Westminster Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sunset at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sunset is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
