Vero Beach is a perfect 9-0 against Okeechobee since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Brahmans at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Vero Beach 1.4, Okeechobee 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Wednesday, Vero Beach needed a bit of extra time to put away Hagerty. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Huskies 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Cody Morgan spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Vero Beach's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nate Downey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, while Okeechobee put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Lincoln Park Academy. The Brahmans blew past the Greyhounds 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Brahmans in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won four in a row.
Lincoln Park Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Manny Pereira, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (he gave up zero walks).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bradyn Lineberry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mason Kindell, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
Okeechobee's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Vero Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Vero Beach has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Okeechobee struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Vero Beach beat Okeechobee 4-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brahmans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
