The Everett Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 52-15 loss at the hands of Okemos. Everett lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 82-14 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Okemos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth Schafer, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schafer has scored all season. Vani Sharma was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Everett's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Okemos, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everett's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. East Lansing is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Okemos, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Carman-Ainsworth presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wolves in Michigan (the Cavaliers are ranked 104th, while the Wolves are ranked 407th).
