TONOPAH, Ariz. -
Valley Christian (Chandler, Ariz.) took an early lead against
Tonopah Valley (Tonopah, Ariz.) and held on for a 42-15 victory on Saturday.
The Trojans put up 20 points in the opening quarter. Valley Christian scored on a touchdown run by
Brandon Haagsma, a
Cory Kasperson touchdown run and a touchdown pass by Haagsma to
TJ Widner.
After taking the lead on a Haagsma touchdown run in the first quarter, VC was up 28-0 at the half.
The Chandler school expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. The Trojans scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Kasperson.
The win was a nice bounce back for Valley Christian, which lost to Arizona Lutheran Academy last week, 20-13. The victory snapped Valley Christian's two-game losing streak.
