Everything went their way against Elmore County as Chilton County made off with a 59-36 victory. Given Chilton County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Panthers are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chilton County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyeshia Williams, who scored eight points along with 19 rebounds and eight assists. Williams is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Iasia Anderson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, nine assists, and 11 steals.
Chilton County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Elmore County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
