The Kent County Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 60-39 loss at the hands of Pocomoke. Kent County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pocomoke apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.
Despite the loss, Kent County still got an impressive performance from Zoe Angenieux, who scored 25 points. Angenieux scored a full 64.1% of Kent County's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jane Cleary, who scored seven points.
Pocomoke found their leader in underclassman Audrey Pham, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Alayah Thornton, who scored five points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Kent County's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Pocomoke, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Kent County will be playing at home against North Caroline at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pocomoke, they will head out on the road to face off against Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Decatur is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
