The Kwigillingok Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. The game between Kwigillingok and Nelson Island wasn't particularly close, with Kwigillingok falling 82-64. That's two games in a row now that Kwigillingok has lost by exactly 18 points.
Despite the loss, Kwigillingok still got an impressive performance from Carson John, who scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points John has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of James Brink, who scored 11 points.
It was another big night for Brennan Lincoln, who scored 35 points for Nelson Island. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lincoln has scored at least 25% of Nelson Island's points. Zachary Angaiak was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Kwigillingok's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Nelson Island, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kwigillingok will challenge Lewis Angapak at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lewis Angapak comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Nelson Island is on the road again on Saturday and play against Chief Paul Memorial at 8:30 p.m. on December 16th. Chief Paul Memorial will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
