The Hicksville Aces suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They were beaten by Ayersville 50-20. Hicksville has not had much luck with Ayersville recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hicksville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Ally Schindler was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds for Ayersville. Schindler hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Taylor Craft was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
Hicksville's defeat was their 12th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.1 points per game. As for Ayersville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Hicksville will head out on the road to take on Lincolnview at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lincolnview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. As for Ayersville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Montpelier at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Montpelier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Ayersville is ranked 75th).
