Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Southwestern Heights, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were dealt a 90-38 loss at the hands of Hugoton on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southwestern Heights in their matchups with Hugoton: they've now lost five in a row.
Ulysses' win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Southwestern Heights, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Ulysses was able to grind out a solid win over Southwestern Heights in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 59-49. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Southwestern Heights' David Torres, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Ulysses to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
