A District 3 recap October 1, 2013
Drew Klein of Papillion-LaVista South ran for the longest rushing play in A District 3 this season against Omaha North last week. Klein's team lost to the Vikings as he sprinted for 70 yards on the play and finished with 149 in all.
Omaha Westside added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Benson, 63-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Warriors.
JAYDEN SWENSEN provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Bunnies fell to Omaha Westside. He completed 16 passes for 166 yards and also ran for 34 yards. SWENSEN's favorite target this week was TYREE PETER, who caught 7 passes for 72 yards.
Nate Tapp was a key player and the best on defense this week as Benson lost to Brett Froendt's team. The 6-foot-1 senior.
PETER was the best wideout in the league this week as Tony Kobza's team fell to the Warriors. PETER racked up 7 receptions for 72 yards. Tremayne Ross helped Benson's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 42 yards.
Leading A District 3 in both passing and receiving yards, the Bunnies' SWENSEN and Ross have proven to be a lethal combination. SWENSEN has thrown for 751 yards this season, while Ross, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 11 catches for 217 yards. Klein from Papillion-LaVista South leads the league in rushing with 831 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Benson's Ross goes up against Walt Olsen's team's Nate Stoner.
