The Alvarado Indians won the last time they faced the Ferris Yellowjackets, and things went their way on Friday too. Alvarado was the clear victor by a 49-29 margin over Ferris. The win made it back-to-back wins for Alvarado.
Leading Alvarado to victory were Candra Bridgewater and Joslyn Jarmon. Bridgewater scored 20 points along with six rebounds, while Jarmon scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bridgewater has scored at least 25% of Alvarado's points. Another player making a difference was Lauren Melson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Alvarado's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Ferris, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9.
Alvarado will head out on the road to face off against Venus at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Venus is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Ferris will be home for the holidays to greet Life Waxahachie at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Life Waxahachie and Ferris are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
