Byers  took care of business in their home opener  on Friday (and then some). They took their  contest at home  with ease, bagging  a  52-8 victory over the Rocky Ford Meloneers. With the Bulldogs ahead  40-0 at the half, the  game was all but over already.
 Byers had a senior duo take command as  Kaleb Willoughby gained 86 total yards and three touchdowns and  Chase Long threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Willoughby got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible57 yards. Byers also got help from  Aj Engle, who showed off his sure hands for 85  receiving yards.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Byers will take on Lyons at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Rocky Ford, they will venture away from home to  take on Front Range Christian  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Rocky Ford will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
