We expected the Milford Mavericks to have trouble with the significantly higher-ranked the Walled Lake Western Warriors on Friday, and they did. Milford suffered a grim 51-29 defeat to Walled Lake. If the Mavericks were hoping to take revenge for the 48-19 defeat against Walled Lake when the teams met in January, then they were left disappointed.
This is the second loss in a row for Milford and nudges their record down to 7-11. The victory bumped Walled Lake's record up to 14-4.
Milford will take on South Lyon on Tuesday. South Lyon is hoping for a better outcome this contest after a 42-13 loss to Mott. As for the Warriors, they will go up against Lakeland on Tuesday. Walled Lake won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
