Weber is 0-10 against Davis since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Weber Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Davis Darts at 5:15 p.m. Weber will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Davis is ranked fourth).
Weber's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. The contest between Weber and Layton wasn't particularly close, with Weber falling 61-45. Weber found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 9 on offense.
The losing side was boosted by Logyn Howell, who scored 14 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Arbon, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Davis stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Farmington 63-24 on the road. That looming 63-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Davis yet this season.
Davis found their leader in underclassman T'Maea Eteuati, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Kendra Kitchen was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals and three blocks.
Weber's defeat was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Davis, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Weber have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Davis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
