The Brookfield Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Garfield G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Brookfield's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the G-Men have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to post nine more assists than your opponent, a fact Brookfield proved on Monday. They came out on top against Memorial by a score of 47-32 (the very same score they lost by the week prior).
It was another big night for Cailey Wellman, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Wellman is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Jumper, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Garfield had to suffer through a rough 76-17 loss at the hands of the Rebels. While losing is never fun, Garfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 701st, while the Rebels are ranked 145th).
Brookfield's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Garfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Brookfield couldn't quite finish off the G-Men in their previous meeting back in January and fell 30-27. Will Brookfield have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
