Peninsula was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Auburn Mountainview. The Seahawks came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 34 last week.
Bonney Lake was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in 3A SPSL. The Panthers defeated Decatur 27-14 earlier in the week.
Lakes's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rhys Gervais threw for 215 and five touchdowns and Caleb Lyons had 101 yards receiving. On the ground Gervais chipped in 46 yards. Sammie Long helped Lakes' passing attack out by catching three balls for 63 yards.
Nicholas Aumua made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Lions lost to Peninsula. The 6-foot-3 senior grabbed 1.0 sack.
Auburn Mountainview's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Domenic Rockey has thrown for 1303 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Kekoa Nahaku has 35 catches for 482 yards. Ray Hardaway leads the league in rushing with 357 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Lancers take on Auburn Mountainview. At the moment, Lakes is in second, while Jared Gervais' team is in fifth.
Dave Miller's team took down Enumclaw 61-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gervais in the win.
