Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep Chargers vs. Indian Rocks Christian Eagles

Shorecrest Prep is 10-0 against Indian Rocks Christian since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Shorecrest Prep Chargers will host the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Shorecrest Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Shorecrest Prep narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Admiral Farragut 50-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Nickolas Bearden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 31 points. His evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Ahmiyan Malcolm was another key player, posting seven points.

Meanwhile, Indian Rocks Christian had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 84-63 margin over the Barons. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Barons are ranked 653rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Indian Rocks Christian has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Shorecrest Prep, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Shorecrest Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Indian Rocks Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 58-46. Does Shorecrest Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Indian Rocks Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
