The Broughton Capitals waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Leesville Road by a score of 64-55. That's two games straight that Broughton has won by exactly nine points.
Broughton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Outlaw, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Peatross, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Broughton's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Leesville Road, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broughton will square off against the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal Gibbons presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Capitals in North Carolina (the Crusaders are ranked 72nd, while the Capitals are ranked 210th). As for Leesville Road, they will head out on the road to face off against the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens Drive is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
