Dinwiddie is 8-0 against Meadowbrook since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dinwiddie Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Meadowbrook Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. Meadowbrook took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dinwiddie, who comes in off a win.
Dinwiddie put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They breezed by Prince George on the road to the tune of 70-21. Given Dinwiddie's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Prince George is ranked 179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Raphael Tucker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 330 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 18.3 yards per carry. Tucker really tore up the turf during one magnificent 91-yard run. Mickiel Johnson was another key contributor, gaining 79 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Meadowbrook's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 39-8 loss at the hands of Hopewell.
Meadowbrook's loss came about despite a quality game from Donovan Jefferson, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Dinwiddie is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Meadowbrook, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6.
Everything came up roses for Dinwiddie against Meadowbrook when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 50-12 win. Does Dinwiddie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Meadowbrook turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
