Basketball Recap: Cypress Creek Comes Up Short

After a string of three wins, Cypress Creek's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against the Norwayne Bobcats, falling 65-39. The matchup marked the Coyotes 's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Cypress Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Micah Jarvis posted 11 points and three steals. That's the most steals Jarvis has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Blake Allen, who put up eight points.

Norwayne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braden West, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points and three steals. With that strong performance, West is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Metsker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Cypress Creek's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Norwayne, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Cypress Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-42 defeat against Clearwater on the 27th. As for Norwayne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-46 win against Sumner on the 27th.
