The Polk County Wolverines's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Chase Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Polk County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
Last Friday, Polk County came up short against R-S Central and fell 61-50.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Aaron Jackson, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalil Austin, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, sadly, Chase is still looking for their first win of the season after 18 matches. They were beaten by Hendersonville 76-25 on Friday. Chase was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-15.
Polk County's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Chase, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.
Polk County strolled past Chase when the teams last played back in January by a score of 83-67. The rematch might be a little tougher for Polk County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
